About 70% of Engineering Seats in Engineering Colleges Affiliated to Panjab Technical University PTU remained Vacant after the Completion of Second Round of Counselling. To Fill the Vacant Engineering Seats in Engineering Colleges Affiliated to Punjab Technical University PTU has made the PTU Third Round and Final Round Counselling as Open Counselling. Students from All Over India in States Other Than Punjab can also Participate in the in the Counselling.

As per the Data Provided by the officials Around 7,000 Students has Taken the Admisssion in 85 Engineering Colleges affiliated to Punjab Technical University PTU till July 13, 2011. Out of 38,000 Engineering Seats Under PTU Colleges 26,663 seats were Filled by the PTU and remaining seats will be filled by the Individual Colleges.

PTU CET, the entrance exam for admission to engineering colleges in Punjab, has been scrapped this year because of some Reasons and in the place of PTU CET admission will be made on the basis of AIEEE merit rank. Also the counselling for the admission will be held online. The counseling schedule for the Aspirants has been announced as per which first round of counseling is from 10 June 2011 and will end on 20 June 2011. After declaration of result for the first round, second and third round will begin in the below mentioned Schedule :

Aspirants who did not pay Fee and who did not attend for first Round counselling can Attend By Paying the Fee in the Below mentioned Dates :

• If any applicant fails to deposit the counselling fees Rs 3000/- before 7th June 2011 then he /she is not able to participate for the first round counselling.
• But He/ She can participate in the second round and last round of counselling if they deposit the counselling fee Rs. 3000/- between 25th June 2011 and 29th June 2011.
• If due to any reason a student still not able to submit the counselling fees then he / she is not even eligible for the second round of  counselling.
• But he/ she still has chances to participate in the last round of counselling for which he/ she has to deposit the fees of Rs. 3000/- between 8th July 2011 and  12th July 2011.

Eligibility Criteria for Various Courses of Study:

• +2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English of P.S.E.B./ C.B.S.E or any other examination recognized by GNDU as equivalent thereto with 50% marks in the aggregate of P.C.M. and E subjects shall be eligible.
• Admission to B.Tech.( except for B.Tech. Sugar and Alcohol Technology and Architecture) shall be made on the basis of  CET/AIEEE as per the Punjab government notification or as decided by the University from time to time.
• The admission to B.Tech. Sugar and Alcohol Technology shall be made on the basis of entrance test conducted by GNDU on All India basis.
• B.Tech. (Urban and Regional Planning) Candidates having passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with Mathematics and English as subjects of examination shall be eligible.
