The Common Aptitude Entrance Exam which is Conducted for Admissions to Indian Prestigious Institutes IITs, NITs and IIITs will be held from the Academic year 2013-14 on Wards. As Per the Sources the IIT council and CBSE Committee Members are also Planning to Introduce Online Exam from 2014.

Sources Said that the Council will conduct the Common Entrance Exam Twice a year. The Pen and Paper based test will be stay until the Online System is fully Stabilized. The NIT Council has also Approved the New Format. The Joint Admission Committee of IIT Council members and CBSE Officials will approve the Proposal in the Joint Admission Board JAB Meeting which is to be held on the February 18^th 2012.

The Final Score for Admissions to IITs, NITs and IIITs will be Calculated based on the Marks Scored in the Entrance Exam and Marks Scored in the Qualifying Examination.

60% of Weightage will be given based on Marks Scored in Entrance Exam and 40% Weightage will be based on the Qualifying Examination conducted by the state boards. As the Entrance Exam Score and Board Score determines the Applicants admissions in the Institutes so students must be Score in the Qualifying Exam and Entrance Exam in order to get admission in IITs, NITs and IIITs.

• The New Common Entrance Exam will be Conducted by the Joint Committee of IITs and Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE).

Admissions for 15 Indian Institutes of Technology IITs, National Institutes of Technology NITs and 4 Indian Institutes of Information Technologies will be based on the Entrance Exam Marks and Qualifying Examination. The Final Decision on the Common Entrance Exam will be taken in the Forma Meeting in the Month of February.

Indian Institute of Technology Ropar which was established in 2008 has started its Placements Process in the December for its First Batch Pass outs. As Per the Details given by the Placements officer 338 Students among the 96 Students has been placed with an average salary of Rs 11.5 Lakh Per Annum.

IIT Faculty Members said that the Placements packages offered for Students in IIT Ropar are higher when compared to other newly established IITs. Applicants who received the IIT JEE 2012 Admit Cards should carefully Examine the Admit cards. If they found any discrepancy in IIT JEE 2012 Admit Cards they Should informs the  issuing institute immediately. Applicants with a Valid Admit Card will be allowed to enter Examination hall.

If IIT JEE 2012 Admit Cards Not Received by March 15^th 2012 :

Applicants who did not Receive their IIT JEE 2012 Admit Cards by March 15^th 2012 can obtain their IIT JEE 2012 Registration Number and IIT JEE 2012 Examination Centre from the institute of your zone through phone IVRS – (Interactive Voice Response System) / Website : http://www.iitg.ernet.in/jee/contactus.htm#IVRS   

After obtaining the data, write your name, registration number and the examination centre on two identical halves of an A4-size paper. Affix your photographs (same version of photograph which you have pasted in your IIT JEE 2012 Application Form) one on each half and sign on the bottom of the photographs. Then get this attested by the Head of your School / Institution last attended / gazetted officer / notary public. Meet the IIT Representative with this paper on the day of examination (April 8, 2012) one hour before the commencement of the examination at the office of the Presiding Officer of the examination centre. The IIT Representative will retain one half and give the other half back to you. You will be allowed to write the examination provisionally.

Safe-keep of the IIT JEE 2012 Admit Card

Since the qualified candidates are required to produce their IIT JEE 2012 admit card at the time of IIT JEE 2012 counselling and admission, it should be carefully preserved till the admission through IIT-JEE 2012 is completed.

Sources said that from the Next Academic year on wards Human Resource Development ministry will consider Intermediate (10+2 or Board Exam) marks and the Common Entrance Test Marks for Engineering Admissions.

Ramasami who is the Science and Technology Secretary had said that with Multiple Entrance Exams Students are facing so many problems. These multiple entrance exams neither helped students nor society.

He said that giving Weightage for Board Exam will show a positive result because Students will concentrate on Board Exams too while preparing for Entrance Exams. Students will also concentrate on Board portions seriously in preparation for board exams.
