Engineering College non teaching staff dies in Jaipur due to fire of Indian Oil Coporation

The death of an engineering college accountant allegedly due to inhaling hazardous gas released by burning oil tankers caught people’s on Monday. Yashodanandan Sharma just 38 years old, an accounts officer at GNIT institute died of severe breathing problem and uneasiness in SMS Hospital.
The deceased’s family has filed a police complaint in Sadar Thana stating that the continuous release of smoke has polluted the air to such an extent that it resulted in the victim’s death due to breathing problems.

Satish Sharma is brother-in-law of the deceased said that the government should give them compensation equivalent to the other victims of the fire at IOC depot.
Sharma is lived with his wife Rekha, who is a health official in Vatika hospital, and a four-year-old child. The family was living in a government quarter allotted to his wife near the hospital in Sitapura. The hospital is around 5 km from the blast site.

The problem arose only when Yashonandan went to the institute which is 1 km from the site to access the damage caused due to fire in oil tankers on Sunday. Rekha said that her husband stayed there for three hours and possibly inhaled toxic gases.
After he returned home he complained of mild uneasiness and slept early. She said that he woke up at 6 am with severe breathing problem and was sweating. She took him to Vatika hospital immediately. There he didn’t respond to any medicines. Next, they rushed him to the SMS Hospital. Before doctors could do much, he was declared dead. However, doctors have refused to comment on the real cause of death.

The family argued that cause of death is fire as he had no medical history. They said that he was a simple man. He had no bad habits like smoking and drinking that possibly cause breathing problems added Satish.

Gajanand Sharma, ASI, Sadar Thana police station said the reason behind his death will get confirmed after getting the post mortem report.
