Electrical & Electronics Engineering is the Best Branch of Engineering
Electricity has become the basic need for survival of human beings globally. From household to industrial plants, communication and satellite navigation system, electronic equipment, computers etc., all require electricity. Electrical engineering is one of the core fields of engineering, always evergreen in terms of scope and job prospects. Electrical Engineering is the heart of whole engineering discipline. Nowadays, we see Electronics playing an important role in the implementation and control of Electrical Machines. Keeping this in mind the course has transformed from core electrical Engineering into a fusion of Electronics and Electrical and has been renamed as Electrical and Electronics engineering or simply EEE.
Electrical engineering is the study and application of electrical systems for use in different environments. As an academic subject it involves the study about transmission and generation of electrical power, electrical circuit design, electronics, and instrumentation and control systems. In depth knowledge of electronic devices and circuits is also required. The application of computer-based systems in design, analysis and operation of power systems is also taught.
Electrical technology and machines, circuit analysis, electronics, electromagnetism, electrical engineering materials, instrumentation, control systems, power engineering and transmission and distribution.
After completing a B.Tech/BE one can opt for MTech/ M.S in various specializations such as communication engineering, control and automation, power electronics and systems, control & instrumentation, microelectronics & VLSI design.
Electrical Engineers are needed in all manufacturing units. All major companies of public and private sector such as Electricity Boards, Large Scale Industries, Manufacturing Plants, Power Corporations, Hydro-Electricity sector are continuously in need of Electrical Engineers for their projects. Electrical Engineers also find job prospects in Design Industries, Production plants, Natural gas plants, Petroleum as well as in steel and chemical plants. Many premier Educational and Research Institutions regularly recruit electrical engineers as graduate Engineer trainees and Management Trainees to work on research projects. Electrical Engineers can also get a job in Major players in Public Sector such as Indian Railways, Armed forces (Technical Branch) and also in Thermal and Nuclear power Corporation Limited.
PSUs such as BHEL, NTPC,DMRC,NHPC, Power Grid, state electricity boards like APTRANSCO,APGENCO and private companies such as Crompton greaves, Siemens, Hitachi, Jindal steel and power, reliance, I&T, TATA and Samsung engineering
An entry level engineer earns Rs 20,000- 30,000 per month. A middle level technical professional gets Rs 70,000- 80,000 a month. A senior manager earns Rs 1.5 lakh a month. Starting salaries are almost same in the government and private sector, but vary vastly in top positions. Managers in the private sector can earn more than Rs 1 lakh a month and those in the government companies get Rs 60,000 to 70,000.
Strong logical and analytical skills, keen attention, as machines need a lot of care, ability to keep learning and adapt to changing technology.
If we analyze the trend of last year EAMCET counseling, one can get an EEE seat in government colleges for the open category in the AU region till 700th rank and in OU region till 800th rank and in SVU it was till 1300. If we consider newly established government colleges EEE seat is available till 5000th rank. Even one with below 7000 rank can also get seat in top private engineering colleges.
Seats: Approximately 1200
To get a seat in NIT Warangal, all India rank around 5500 is essential. For admission into BITS rank below 6000 is required. If you are ready to join in any other NIT in the country, AIEEE rank below 12000-14000 is sufficient (according to 2009 counseling)
Seats: Approximately 650
For seat in prestigious IITs, rank below 1000 in IIT JEE is essential.
