1100 IIT Seats not Filled. Lack of Talent?
Lakhs of students work hard for years to get an admission into IITs. IIT JEE is one of the exams with fierceful competetion. But surprisingly about 1100 IIT seats were left unfilled for the year 2009, as there were not enough qualified students in the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Physically Handicapped.
Many students are expressing their openions and wanted to request the authorities to transfer those unfilled seats to the open category. and already 53 seats were transfered from OBC to general category. In an attempt to fill the SC/ST category seats, IITs have already lowered the cutoff marks to nearly half of that of General category, but still couldn’t find suitable candidates.
India is a country in which a lot of people are still not able to get their daily bread in the country inspite of India being a developing country with abundant resources. Again India is a country where there are many deserving students but not all of them get the education they deserve.
