AP Students Got Top Ranks In VIT Entrance Examination 2013
The entrance examination of the Vellore Institute of Technology VITEEE which was held in this year, the AP Students got Top Ranks. Among all the students who attend for its entrance exam 6 students including girl from Andhra Pradesh emerged among the top ten rank holders in the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination.
The Toppers in this year are Yelamarthi Sasi Kiran, Chunduri Pramod, Thammana Sai Rohith, S K Bharath, Sibbala Leena Madhuri and Rachakonda VishnutejaYelamarthi Sasi Kiran, Chunduri Pramod, Thammana Sai Rohith, S K Bharath, Sibbala Leena Madhuri and Rachakonda Vishnuteja
Among toppers, Five of the six students belong to various branches of the same school, Sri Chaitanya junior College, in Vishakapatnam, Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Tirupati. They were ranked 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th. Vishnuteja, who belongs to Narayana Junior College in Hyderabad, ended up with 9th rank.
Sahil Grover (2nd rank) and Arpit Singh (7th) are from Delhi while Kanishk Jain (10th) is from Rajasthan. This year 1,58,000 students, 16,895 more than last year, from across the country had appeared for the entrance examination for the admission to the B Tech degree course, conducted from April 15 to 24 last month in 112 cities.In order to fulfil the demands of the students from Middle East countries, an examination center at Dubai and Kuwait were also put up by the university. For the first time the examination was paperless.
G Viswanathan, the VIT chancellor said that under the GV School Development Programme, 100% tuition fee waiver would be offered to the toppers of each State and central board, to help candidates with poor economic background as they should not be deprived of quality education. The top 50 rank holders in VITEEE would also get 75 % tuition fee waiver while rank holders from 51-100 will get 50 % fee waiver. Under the Support The Advancement of Rural Students (STARS) scheme, toppers in government schools from each of the rural and backward districts in Tamil Nadu, who appeared for the VITEEE and secured top marks would be given 100% free education (tuition, hostel and mess fee waived), he added.
