New JEE Format : Minimum Cutoff Marks Fixed for IIT JEE 2012 (Subject wise 10% and Aggregate 35% )
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi which will Organize Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Exam IIT JEE 2012 has fixed the Cutoff marks for the Students Entering IITs. As per the new IIT JEE Format Prescribed by IIT Delhi Each and every candidate must score at least 10% in each Subject (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Subjects) and minimum of 35% overall aggregate.
IIT Delhi officials said that the Decision on Fixing Subject wise Cutoffs and minimum aggregate Cutoffs has been taken by the IIT Council in the Joint Admission Board Meeting held Yesterday in new Delhi. Officials Said that Currently Students who appeared for IIT JEE are ranked based on the Overall marks.
As per the New Format Candidates must score at least 10% in each subject and 35% in aggregate to beone among the IITJEE 2012 Merit list. He said that the Joint Admission Board had decided to facilitate relaxation for Reserved Category OBC,SC and ST Students.
Source said that Students belonging to OBC Category must score minimum of 9% in each subject and 31.5 % in aggregate to be OBC Merit list. Similarly Students belonging to SC/ST categories must Score a minimum of 5% in each subject and 17.5 % in aggregate to Merit list of SC/ST.
